The EMD Bolt-On Electric Trolling Motor Mount is very easy to install — you only need to drill four holes in your gunnel. There’s no need to cut your boat’s railings or repaint anything, and the bracket is simple to remove when needed. Installation can easily be done at home.To make drilling easier, we provide a drilling jig kit to help you position the holes accurately. According to user feedback, this jig is very practical and easy to use.
The EMD bolt-on bracket is inspired by outboard motor mounting systems — whether it’s a 50HP or a 200HP engine, all are securely fastened with bolts. Therefore, there’s no need to worry about the strength or reliability of a bolted trolling motor mount. The Heavy-Duty(HD) bracket is further reinforced with eight 6.4 mm aluminium rivets between the bracket and the deck to strengthen the connection between the bracket and the hull. The Ultra Heavy-Duty (UHD) version increases the number of rivets to ten for even greater rigidity and durability.
To prevent galvanic corrosion between the stainless-steel bolts and the aluminium hull, it is recommended to apply Tef-Gel, just as you would on other stainless fittings throughout your boat.We also recommend applying a marine-grade sealant, such as Sikaflex 291, between the trolling motor and the bracket, and between the bracket and the hull, to ensure a watertight and long-lasting installation.
